We we are very excited to invite you to the 6th edition of Voile & Tango taking place on Saturday July 27th this year.
For those unfamiliar with the concept, this event is created to initiate tango community members to the wonderful world of sailing and initiate sailors to the magical world of Argentinean tango. It makes for a happy marriage 😉
We are hoping you will sign-up in great numbers dear captains, so that we may invite many tangueras and tangueros to join us for an afternoon of sailing before they share their passion for argentinian tango with us after a group picnic.
To kick off the evening, we are offering an initiation to Argentinian tango followed by an evening of dance. The “milonga” will be sprinkled with popular music for all to enjoy.
Here’s the schedule for the day :
10h30-11h Arrival of our guests and preparation of the boats
11h-12h Captains’ Meeting and intro for our guests
12h-13h Light lunch or snack and mingling with our guests (bring your own or order from the snack bar)
13h-16h Navigation*
16h-19h30 Group picnic**
19h30-20h30 Initiation class for members of the IPYC
20h30-23h Milonga (evening of tango) with a mix of popular music for all to enjoy
* Sailing will start at 1 or 1:30PM when all are ready and, weather weather permiting, we will set a meeting point for a dip in the lake.
** We are suggesting a group picnic where everyone is responsible for bringing their own again this year. That being the case, the BBQ will be available for all to use.
Please remember : All alcoholic beverages consumed on the grounds need to have been purchased through the IPYC bar which will be open for the event. Furthermore, all alcoholic drinks must now be consumed inside the club house OR on the patio.
IMPORTANT :
Considering that we need to know how many spots we have available prior to inviting tango community members, we ask that you PLEASE sign-up no later than Sunday July 21. Please indicate how many tango guests you would like to take onboard.
